Provides practical guidelines and information on a variety of agriculture and forestry-related topics.
Fruit & Vegetable Market News Collection
Summary reports for fresh fruit and vegetable arrival totals, and unload totals, which are arranged by commodities, states, and months and include the annual shipment summaries for eastern, western, mid-western, and southern cities.
Rural Development Publications Collection
This collection includes publications that relate to rural development in America, including from such series as Rural Development Research Reports, Rural Development Perspectives, Agricultural Economic Reports, and Agriculture Information Bulletins, as well as selected Economic Research Staff Reports, Yearbook of Agriculture and the first 300 volumes of Agriculture Handbooks.
Rural Development Research Reports Series
Series dedicated to economic issues in rural United States. Some reports compare metropolitan to non-metropolitan areas.
Historical Gypsy Moth Publications Collection
These documents were published from 1891 to 1923 by various agencies in the area of the initial infestation, including the State Board of Agriculture for Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island, but also include some more modern USDA publications.
Home & Garden Bulletin Series
A resource for the non-specialist and published as short guides, pamphlets, and brochures, these publications offers advice and guidelines on a wide variety of topics related to home, garden, and diet. Some examples include: selecting pots and pans; controlling mosquitoes; drying foods; and growing bonsai.
Journal of Agricultural Research (JAR) Series
This collection is the result of the USDA reorganization and consolidation of its publications in 1913. At this time, it became clear there was a need for a scientific journal where the research results of the Department and Experiment Stations could be published.
Bean Improvement Cooperative (BIC) Series
Includes significant information about the improvement of bean varieties, production and processing that is not readily available elsewhere.
World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA) Collection
The World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA), established in 1912, is one of the oldest international poultry organizations in existence. The First World's Poultry Congress was held in the Hague, Netherlands in 1921, where international cooperation in the poultry sciences was established. The main objectives of the association are to promote the advancement and exchange of knowledge in all areas of poultry science and poultry industry.
Yearbook of the United States Department of Agriculture
Reports that summarize USDA’s research developments, published (with a couple of exceptions) annually from 1894 to 1992, and has a broad appeal outside of the scientific community.
USDA-authored, Peer-reviewed Journal Articles
Contains digital copies of peer-reviewed research authored by U.S. Department of Agriculture scientists and published in scientific journals and conference proceedings. Audience is primarily the scientific community.
